Live performance by Maceál from Rapalje with his One-Man-Band of this country folk song from John Denver in a theatre in the Netherlands.
“Thank God I’m a Country Boy”, also known as “Country Boy”, is a song written by John Martin Sommers and recorded by American singer/songwriter John Denver. The song was originally included on Denver’s 1974 album Back Home Again. A version recorded live on August 26, 1974 at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles was included on his 1975 album An Evening with John Denver. The live version was released as a single and went to No. 1 on both the Billboard magazine Hot Country Singles and Billboard Hot 100 charts. The song topped both charts for one week each, first the country chart (on May 31), and the Hot 100 chart a week later. Imagine yourself in a completely different world at Castlefest
The Fantasy festival of the Netherlands. A fest for young and old, where, as soon as you enter the gates, you find yourself in the Other World. Castlefest is a total experience with lots of music, fantasy writers, themed catering, medieval crafts and a large market which offers everything a fantasy fan is looking for.
Castlefest characterizes itself by a unique ambiance. This makes that regular visitors are looking forward to the next edition a year in advance. It creates a feeling where you find yourself in a completely different world, causing a daze and homesickness for weeks after the event took place.
I now really start to feel the pressure of doing so many gigs in a month and trying to keep the video’s coming.
Really hope that you continue to support us on Patreon so I can change some things like editing on a better (faster) computer or letting somebody else do this and some other work that needs to be done for posting videos and livestreams.
Thank you so much for your help and understanding!

“Drunken Sailor” is a sea shanty, also known as “What Shall We Do with a/the Drunken Sailor”.
The shanty was sung to accompany certain work tasks aboard sailing ships, especially those that required a bright walking pace. It is believed to originate in the early 19th century or before, during a period when ships’ crews, especially those of military vessels, were sufficiently large to permit hauling a rope whilst simply marching along the deck. With the advent of merchant packet and clipper ships and their smaller crews, which required different working methods, use of the shanty appears to have declined or shifted to other, minor tasks.
